An important part of the work in ENVINET, is to document the infrastructure and research at the stations involved.

ENVINET Site Specific Information documents the facilities at the research stations

ENVINET has made a standardised registration of the facilities at all the research stations in the network. In this database, you will find information about fields of research, basic data sets,  infrastructure, research facilities and contact information. This information is searchable. The database includes all the 18 stations involved in ENVINET (AWI has registered two of their stations).

If you have comments to the database, e.g. on the information it contains, or wishes for additional query possibilities, please use the "Feedback" button at the first page of the database.

ENVINET Project Directory documents research and monitoring

ENVINET has developed a database for registration of research and monitoring projects at the stations. The actual project database is linked to AMAP's Project Directory. You can choose to search only the ENVINET registrations or all registrations. A  project is registered only once in the system. But it may be tagged with both "ENVINET" and "AMAP".

The system allows a person to register information about a project on-line.  The information is then immediately visible in the searchable database.

The ENVINET project registration form includes a core list of information and an additional optional section, in order to make a more comprehensive registration. You can cut and paste from electronic documents.

Up to now, few of the ENVINET sites have registered projects. At the meeting in Oban/Dunstaffnage in January 2002, it was decided that all the stations should register all their projects for 2002.  It is up to the members of the technical tasks project groups, to eventually take initiatives for registration of historical projects within a scope they define.

Data-sets

You will find the most general information about basic datasets - usually from long-term monitoring - in the database under "Site specific information". Apart from that, ENVINET has not started a separate registration of all datasets available at the research stations.

As a part of the "technical tasks", we have started to gather data from the stations in particular scientific fields. But we have not decided to work on general metadatabases.
